Navigating the Digital Landscape: A Guide to Secure Living in the Cyber Age

Hello World Issue #1

Thank you sincerely for joining me on this journey, and I'm truly grateful for your support. I'm navigating unfamiliar territory, and your presence means a lot as I trudge through the challenges and growth ahead.

In early December, I unexpectedly found myself laid off from my position as a Sr. Staff Technical Program Manager at a mid-sized startup. It appears the company was streamlining its workforce in anticipation of going public in 2025, catching me and other senior staff off guard. Despite being successful and, in my opinion, proficient in my role, the sudden change after nearly four years was a significant adjustment.

The job market, especially for someone more seasoned in the technology realm, has proven to be quite challenging. While I come across numerous roles on platforms like LinkedIn and Indeed that align perfectly with my skills, I rarely receive responses or face swift rejections. Despite rewriting my resume, crafting personalized cover letters, reaching out to recruiters, and tapping into my industry network, the lack of communication from potential employers has been disheartening.

Now what? As I persist in my search for a full-time role, I'm compelled to explore alternatives. This contemplation led me here. Should I consider purchasing a business, venture into entrepreneurship, explore high risk high reward investment opportunities like options or crypto, or perhaps pursue my daughter's dream and delve into the realm of influencers? Impostor syndrome has cast a shadow, leaving me grappling with the fundamental question: What am I good at?

So, I've decided to share this journey with you, seeking your camaraderie as we navigate this uncertain road together. Join me for weekly updates on my endeavors to meet financial obligations and, hopefully, achieve more. I'll also share the lessons I'm learning along the way.

In the wise words of Walt Whitman, "Be curious, not judgmental." As I embark on this exploration I invite you to join me and see where the road takes us.
